Honahaar Scholarship

One of the key decisions is the increase in the Honhaar Scholarship amount from PKR 30,000 to PKR 50,000, ensuring that students from all provinces, including Punjab, have equal access to financial assistance for their higher education.

Acknowledging education as the foundation of national progress, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has made several pivotal decisions during a crucial meeting focused on enhancing the educational system.

Honhaar Scholarship Scheme Expanded Nationwide

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the Honhaar Scholarship, initially meant for students in Punjab, will now be extended to students from all provinces, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This step guarantees that talented students from every region of Pakistan can take advantage of the scholarship program.

The Chief Minister stated, “Every child who excels on merit deserves the opportunity to study in quality colleges, and we will make sure that financial limitations do not stand in the way of their dreams.

The same standards that apply to students in Punjab will now be available to those from other provinces. We consider them our children, and we must support every student across the country.

Scholarship Amount Increased to PKR 50,000

In a major step to support students pursuing higher education, the scholarship amount under the Honhaar Scholarship Scheme has been raised from PKR 30,000 to PKR 50,000

This increase will offer much-needed financial assistance to students in their second, third, and fourth years of undergraduate studies. The scholarship is designed to help academically gifted students who face financial challenges in continuing their education.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that scholarships are not merely a privilege but a right for every deserving student. She stated, “Education is the true investment in our youth, and we are committed to ensuring that no student is held back by financial limitations.

Every child deserves an equal chance to succeed, and this scholarship is a step toward making that possible.

Laptop Scheme Expanded to Benefit More Students

In addition to the scholarship program, the Chief Minister also unveiled the expansion of the laptop distribution scheme. As part of this initiative, the number of laptops available for students in Punjab has been raised to 110,000

Moreover, the eligibility requirement for receiving a laptop is set at a minimum of 65% marks, ensuring that only high-achieving students can benefit from the scheme.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the same eligibility criteria will apply to students from all provinces, ensuring fairness and equality in the distribution of resources.

She stated, “We want every child to have access to modern technology, as laptops are crucial tools for learning in today’s digital world. We aim to provide laptops to as many students as possible, regardless of their background. Read more details from the Hamara Point blogs!
