University of Engineering & Technology UET Faisalabad, a campus of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore since 2004, is located in Faisalabad, the Manchester of Pakistan. It plays a major role in the country’s GDP.

The university chose Faisalabad for its campus because it is the third-largest city and a key industrial hub in Pakistan. The Government of Punjab provided over 220 acres of land for the campus.

The campus offers a healthy academic environment with highly qualified faculty, modern laboratories, and dedicated staff. Industrial collaboration, extracurricular activities, and strong academics help develop skilled engineers and scientists.

All engineering programs at the campus are accredited by PEC under (Washington Accord-OBE based). Faisalabad is especially famous for its textile industry. However, UET previously had no department offering a textile engineering degree. To address this need, the Faisalabad Campus established the Department of Textile Engineering.

Affiliation

The University of Engineering and Technology and its departments are accredited by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and hold affiliations with Pakistan Engineering Council PEC, PCATP, Washington Accord.

Health facilities

The university offers medical coverage to its employees and students under the supervision of a Health Committee. If a student in the hostel is unable to leave their bed, the doctor may visit upon the request of a Resident Tutor. Students are expected to cooperate with the medical officer in maintaining their health records, ensuring the issuance of medical certificates when required. However, the clinic does not provide medicines based on prescriptions from external medical practitioners.

Sports

The university offers extensive sports facilities, allowing students to participate in both indoor and outdoor games. It provides features for major sports, including cricket, hockey, football, tennis, badminton, basketball, table tennis, and athletics. To encourage maximum student participation, the university organizes inter-faculty and inter-hostel tournaments, fostering a spirit of competition and teamwork.
