The University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore established its Narowal sub-campus in 2012, inaugurated by CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif. The campus is part of Shahbaz Sharif’s vision to promote education in underdeveloped areas of Punjab. It is connected to UET Lahore and focuses on practical and industrial training.
UET-Narowal offers B.Sc. programs in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Computer Science & Engineering. Initially, 480 undergraduate students will be enrolled, with plans to increase the number in the coming years.
The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) was established in 1921 as the Mughal Pura Technical College and later became Maclagan Engineering College. In 1923, the Governor of Punjab, Sir Edwards Maclagan, inaugurated the university’s main block.
UET is a public university, with the Governor of Punjab serving as its Chancellor and overseeing university functions. UET comprises seven faculties and 23 academic departments, focusing on engineering, business, scientific, and technological education and research.
University is ranked among the top engineering universities in Pakistan by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. In 2010, QS World University Rankings placed UET Lahore at 281st among engineering and technology universities globally. Additionally, UET organizes the Engineering College Admission Test (ECAT) annually in the Punjab province.

Affiliation
UET Narowal Campus is recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. It offers programs that follow HEC standards. The campus also has well-equipped libraries to support students academic and research needs.
Sports
The university offers many facilities for students to enjoy both outdoor and indoor sports. It provides spaces for major sports like cricket, hockey, football, tennis, badminton, basketball, squash, table tennis, and athletics. The university organizes inter-faculty and inter-hostel tournaments to involve as many students as possible.
Outstanding athletes are encouraged to compete in inter-university tournaments under the guidance of the Higher Education Commission. The sports complex is a commanding feature of the campus landscape and has, amongst other things, an Olympic-size swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, a gymnasium and an impressive stadium.
Health Facilities
The university provides medical care for employees and students under a health committee’s supervision. If a student is too sick to leave their bed, a doctor may visit them in the hostel upon the Resident Tutor’s request. Students should cooperate with the medical officer in keeping health records to receive medical certificates when needed.

Cafeterias
These cafes offer quality food for students and also provide facilities like banking, shopping centers, and 24/7 ATMs. The university has several cafeterias for male, female, local, and international students, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
