University of Engineering and Technology UET, Mardan

University of Engineering & Technology Mardan (UET Mardan) was established on March 7, 2018, by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the KP Universities Act. The university campus is located on Main Charsadda Road, Mardan, covering an area of 172 Kanals.

Previously, the campus operated as a satellite campus of UET Peshawar since 2002. Initially, it housed two teaching departments, Telecommunication Engineering and Computer Software Engineering offering BSc programs in these fields.

Due to its strategic location and well-equipped facilities, the campus gained significant public interest and experienced rapid growth in all aspects, including infrastructure, laboratories, and faculty development.

In addition to MSc and PhD programs in Telecommunication Engineering and Computer Software Engineering, the Department of Electrical Engineering was established in 2012, offering BSc Electrical Engineering with specializations in Power and Communication. Currently, around 1,000 students are enrolled at UET Mardan across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

In 2016, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan approved a grant of 1.336 billion PKR to establish the Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering Departments and to enhance facilities for students and faculty. This approval served as a strong endorsement from HEC, recognizing the campus’s potential to evolve into a full-fledged engineering university.
